Russian, US Presidents Discuss Ukraine Crisis in Phone Call
Moscow, June 14 (QNA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed a range of international issues, including the conflict in Ukraine, during a telephone call on Sunday with US President Donald Trump.
According to a Kremlin statement cited by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, the 55-minute call included a discussion of a memorandum of understanding currently being prepared between the United States and Iran. Ushakov said Trump indicated during the conversation that an agreement on the matter was close at hand.
He added that the leaders also addressed key international issues, including developments related to the war in Ukraine, as well as prospects for advancing bilateral relations between Moscow and Washington.
Ushakov said the two sides agreed that the US president's special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, would return to Russia in the near future as part of their involvement in efforts related to the Iranian file.
The Russian official added that the two presidents also discussed the possibility of further contacts between Russian and American representatives in the coming period to coordinate on several issues of mutual interest. (QNA)
