Doha, May 22 (QNA) - The First Vice-President of the Qatar Olympic Committee has praised the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026, describing the event as an outstanding success on both organizational and sporting levels.

HE Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana said on Friday the Games reflected the strong ties between Gulf nations under the slogan "One Gulf, One Heart", and helped strengthen unity and friendship among young people across the region.

The remarks came after the conclusion of the 12-day tournament. He said Qatar had once again demonstrated its ability to host major international sporting events to the highest standards, citing the country's advanced infrastructure and extensive organizational experience.

Al Mana also credited the support of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, President of both the Qatar Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia, for ensuring the success of the Games.

Qatar finished top of the medal table with a record haul of 134 medals, including 48 gold, 50 silver and 36 bronze medals — the country's best performance in the history of the Gulf Games.

Al Mana thanked participating delegations, organizers, volunteers and supporters for contributing to what he described as a memorable edition of the regional event. (QNA)
