Experts Stress Family's Role in Protecting Children at Doha Book Fair Seminar
Doha, May 22 (QNA) - Specialists in family counseling and community protection have stressed that the family remains the first line of defense in protecting children and strengthening social stability, highlighting the need for closer cooperation between security authorities and civil society institutions to address modern social and digital challenges.
The remarks were made during a seminar titled held alongside the 35th edition of the Doha International Book Fair.
Ibrahim Mohammed Al Smaih, Director of the Community Police Department, said the event focused on enhancing family awareness and promoting early intervention to prevent social problems.
Lolwah Al Abdullah, administrative expert at the Community Police Department, highlighted the concept of security and community partnership, stressing that it is based on cooperation and integration between security authorities, civil society institutions and individuals to strengthen social and family stability. She added that maintaining security is a shared responsibility among all members of society.
Meanwhile, representatives from Wifaq Family Consulting Center and Aman Center for Protection and Social Rehabilitation outlined the importance of family counseling, legal support and psychological services in addressing domestic disputes and protecting vulnerable groups, particularly children.
Speakers also highlighted the growing risks posed by digital threats and cybercrime, calling for updated policies, stronger community partnerships and improved family guidance programs to help safeguard young people. (QNA)
