Qatar, Uzbekistan Discuss Ways to Enhance Trade and Investment Cooperation

Tashkent, May 21 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the Republic of Uzbekistan discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and explore partnership opportunities in strategic projects, contributing to the strengthening of economic, trade, and investment relations between the two countries.
This came during a visit by a Qatari delegation to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, headed by HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed.
During the visit, His Excellency held a series of bilateral meetings with several senior officials in the Republic of Uzbekistan, including HE Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev; HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov; HE Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyar Saidov; HE Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov; and HE Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamahmudov.
The meetings focused on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and explore partnership and investment opportunities in several priority sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, and other areas that reflect the two countries' aspirations to expand economic cooperation and achieve their common interests.
On the sidelines of the visit, HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed and HE Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov co-chaired the Qatari-Uzbek roundtable meeting in Tashkent, with the participation of representatives from both the public and private sectors.
In his remarks, His Excellency highlighted that the meeting reflects the growing momentum in relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Uzbekistan and the shared commitment to elevating economic, trade, and investment cooperation to broader levels. He noted the importance that the State of Qatar attaches to this strategic partnership and its interest in exploring new opportunities for long-term cooperation and investment.
The two sides also discussed opportunities for cooperation in strategic projects and reviewed investment opportunities available to Qatari investors and institutions. They further explored mechanisms for strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors and activating the joint Qatari-Uzbek Business Council, which will support the building of sustainable economic partnerships between the two countries.
The State of Qatar's delegation included senior executives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Qatar Investment Authority, the Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar, the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Airways, Qatar Development Bank, and the Qatar Fund for Development.
