Qatar Participates in 125th Meeting of GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee

Doha, May 14 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated on Thursday in the 125th Meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held via videoconference.
HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari led Qatar's delegation to the meeting that brought together Their Excellencies the Ministers of Finance from across the GCC member states.
The meeting reviewed a series of outcomes from key regional technical committees, including the GCC Central Banks Governors' Committee, the Customs Union Authority, and the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Departments. Participants also assessed the latest progress reports from the GCC Common Market Committee.
Discussions focused on the General Secretariat's report regarding measures taken in response to current regional and international economic developments. Additionally, the ministers examined the implementation mechanisms for decisions aimed at combating harmful practices in international trade.
The committee further addressed the progress of ongoing free trade agreement negotiations between the GCC and various international blocs. The session concluded with a follow-up on the latest milestones toward achieving comprehensive economic unity among the GCC countries. (QNA)
