Jordan's Minister of Culture Praises Qatar’s Role as Cultural Beacon
Doha, May 14 (QNA) - Minister of Culture of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Mustafa Rawashdeh said his country's participation in the 35th Doha International Book Fair reflects the depth of relations between the two countries and highlights their longstanding cultural ties.
On the sidelines of the fair's opening ceremony, Rawashdeh praised Qatar's role as a cultural hub, expressing pride in the participation of Jordanian publishing houses. He also underscored the significance of the publishing sector in Jordan, describing it as one of the most important creative cultural industries that receives strong attention from the ministry.
He noted that the strong presence of Jordanian publishers and visitors at the fair reflects the role of book fairs in strengthening communication and fostering cultural dialogue, emphasizing the role of knowledge in building civilizations and bringing nations closer together.
The 35th Doha International Book Fair features the participation of 520 publishing houses from 37 Arab and foreign countries, with 910 pavilions. The exhibition showcases more than 1.85 million books, including 231,000 titles, and includes the launch of 143 new publications, as well as 46 dialogue sessions, 69 workshops, and 46 seminars held at the fair's main stage.
