Kuwait's Cabinet Condemns Infiltration by IRGC Members into Bubiyan Island
Kuwait, May 12 (QNA) - Kuwait's cabinet strongly condemned and denounced the infiltration of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps personnel into Bubiyan Island to carry out hostile acts against Kuwait. The group reportedly engaged in clashes with Kuwaiti armed forces before being apprehended, resulting in injuries to one member of the Kuwaiti military.
The statement was issued during a cabinet meeting held today under the chairmanship of HH the Prime Minister Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
The council stressed Kuwait's demand that Iran immediately and unconditionally halt its unlawful hostile actions, which it said threaten regional security and stability and undermine regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalation.
The cabinet reaffirmed Kuwait's firm commitment to the principles of good neighborliness and its rejection of the use of its territory or airspace to launch hostile acts against any country. It added that the hostile acts carried out by Iran constitute a blatant violation of Kuwaiti sovereignty, a serious breach of international law and the United Nations Charter, and a direct challenge to the international will and to United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817.
The council stressed that Iran bears full responsibility for these hostile acts and affirmed Kuwait’s inherent right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, including taking any measures it deems appropriate to defend its sovereignty and protect its people and residents in line with international law.
