Beirut, April 30 (QNA) - A Lebanese army soldier and several members of his family were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a town in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese army said in a statement Thursday that a soldier was killed along with several members of his family as a result of an Israeli airstrike that targeted their home in the town of Kfar Rumman in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon.

Earlier Thursday, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that nine people were killed and 13 others were wounded in a series of Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling that targeted several towns in southern Lebanon.

This escalation constitutes a violation of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, which came into effect on April 16 and was later extended for three weeks. (QNA)
