Japan, Zambia Agree to Expand Economic Cooperation
Lusaka, May 1 (QNA) - Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi held talks with his Zambian counterpart, Mulambo Haimbe, in Lusaka on ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
According to Japan's Kyodo News agency, Motegi expressed Tokyo's readiness to encourage Japanese companies to expand their investments in Zambia, a resource-rich country with significant reserves of copper and cobalt.
The two sides agreed to further strengthen economic ties and advance dialogue and exchanges at multiple levels.
Zambia marks the first stop on Motegi's eight-day African tour and his visit represents the first by a Japanese foreign minister to the country in 42 years. (QNA)
