Qatar SC, Al Wakrah Qualify for HH the Amir Cup Volleyball Semifinals

Doha, April 08 (QNA) - Qatar SC and Al Wakrah qualified for the semifinals of the 47th edition of HH the Amir Cup Volleyball Championship for men, after defeating Al Rayyan and Al Ahli respectively, Wednesday evening in the quarterfinals of the tournament, which is being held at the Aspire Women's Hall in a single-elimination format.

In the first match, Qatar qualified after defeating Al Rayyan in three straight sets (25-21, 25-21, 25-17).

In the second match, Al Wakrah qualified for the semi-finals after defeating Al Ahli in three straight sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-19) in a match where Al Wakrah displayed impressive performances throughout all three sets.

In the semi-finals, Qatar SC will face the winner of the Al Arabi vs. Al Gharafa match scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday.

Al Wakrah will play the winner of the Police vs. Al Sadd match, also scheduled for tomorrow, which concludes the quarter-final stage.

The semi-finals will be held next Sunday and will feature two highly competitive matches, as the winners will advance to the final, scheduled for next Wednesday.

Eight teams qualified directly for the finals from the top four in the league: Al Arabi, Al Wakrah, Police, and Al Rayyan. Qatar SC, Al Gharafa, Al Sadd, and Al Ahli completed the lineup by qualifying for the quarter-finals.

Regarding incentives, the Volleyball Association has allocated substantial financial rewards, with the winning team receiving QAR 2 million, and the runner-up receiving QAR 1 million. (QNA)
