Qatar Equestrian Tour “Longines Hathab” Concludes Round 11 with High-Level Competition
Doha, April 25 (QNA) - The 11th round of the Qatar Equestrian Tour "Longines Hathab," in its ninth edition, concluded today. The series is organized by the Qatar Equestrian Federation in partnership with Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation, at the federation's main arena, showcasing a high technical standard and strong competition across all categories.
The final day featured standout performances in dressage events. Rider Sharifa Ahmed Al Ansari claimed the Amateur Introductory Level title (Group 7) with a score of 70.119, while Georgina Roy Khan won the Preliminary Test for Level Two in the same group with 72.625 points.
In the junior category (Preliminary Level Two), Hamad Nasser Al Marri took first place with 71.5 points. Meanwhile, Michelle Grimes secured victory in the Level One dressage event with a score of 70.425.
In the Future Riders class (90cm), Saleha Khalid Al Obaidli finished first with a time of 21.57 seconds aboard "Violet," followed by Al Qa'qa bin Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in 22.34 seconds on "Bon Sweila," and Fahad Talal Al Nuaimi in third with 23.05 seconds on "Baccarat."
The Bronze Tour (120cm) delivered an exciting contest, with Hussein Saeed Haidan taking first place in 28.77 seconds on "Sausido." Khalid Al Hadi finished second (29.33 seconds) on "Capion," while Anaz Al Anaz placed third (29.41 seconds) on "De Leon."
In the team standings, Marwan Al Shaqab claimed first place, followed by Ajoud in second, and Ghazal Al Shaqab in third.
The Diamond Tour (150cm) title went to Celine Sherif Mohamed, who clocked 31.48 seconds on "Calamando." Khalid Al Eid secured second place (32.11 seconds) on "Rakar," while Mohammed Saeed Haidan came third (32.36 seconds) on "Wathnan Stand."
Tournament Director Abdullah Al Marri stated that the competition has reached an advanced level by Round 11, noting that the championship is entering its decisive stages with three rounds remaining. He highlighted the increasing competitiveness and close margins among riders.
He added that this progress reflects the success of the organizational approach in attracting top riders and providing a high-level competitive environment, which has enhanced technical readiness and experience. He emphasized that the championship has become a key platform for developing equestrian sport in Qatar and preparing riders for regional and international events, reinforcing its status as one of the leading equestrian series in the region.
