Sanya, China, April 22 (QNA) - Senior officials from the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) have visited the national delegation's headquarters in Sanya, China, to review preparations for the 2026 Asian Beach Games in Hainan Province.

QOC Second Vice President Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari and Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain met athletes and officials as part of efforts to assess readiness ahead of the start of competition.

During the visit, the officials urged athletes to maintain discipline and deliver strong performances that reflect the progress of Qatari sport and its growing presence at the continental level.

They also highlighted the importance of focus and gaining experience through participation in major international events.

The delegation was briefed on administrative and logistical arrangements at the team headquarters, where officials praised the support provided by the team management to ensure suitable conditions for athletes.

Qatar will compete in seven sports at the Games, including volleyball, 3x3 basketball, handball, sailing, aquathlon, jujitsu, and wrestling, with both men's and women's participation in selected disciplines.

The participation continues Qatar's long-standing presence in the Asian Beach Games, which began in Bali in 2008, followed by Muscat in 2010, with the country securing its first gold medal in Haiyang in 2012 in handball. (QNA)
