Jeddah, April 13 (QNA) - The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) will hold a virtual coordination meeting next Sunday entitled "Responsibility of Media and Society in Times of Crisis."

The meeting will discuss the media's responsibility in light of the attacks targeting several member states in the Middle East region, and its role in strengthening social cohesion and supporting governmental efforts aimed at preserving lives and protecting national assets and infrastructure.

The meeting also aims to coordinate joint media action among member states' news agencies, explore ways to counter and combat rumors both in the media and within society, emphasize the importance of adhering to information issued by official sources, and enhance news exchange among member states on issues related to this crisis. This will contribute to unifying the media discourse and reducing the spread of false and misleading news. (QNA)
