Turkiye Says NATO Defenses Intercept Third Missile Fired from Iran
Ankara, March 13 (QNA) - Turkiye's Ministry of National Defense said NATO air defense systems deployed in the eastern Mediterranean intercepted a missile fired from Iran.
In a statement, the ministry said Turkiye is in contact with Iranian authorities to seek clarification regarding the incident, noting that this is the third time Ankara has announced that NATO defenses intercepted a missile launched from Iran toward Turkish territory.
The ministry stressed that Turkiye would take all necessary measures, firmly and without hesitation, against any threat targeting its territory or airspace.
Earlier, sirens sounded at Incirlik Air Base -- a key NATO facility -- according to the state-run Anadolu Agency.
The base, located near the southeastern city of Adana, hosts US forces. (QNA)
