Kuwait, March 11 (QNA) - Kuwait welcomed the adoption by the UN Security Council of Resolution No. 2817, which condemns the Iranian attacks targeting the GCC states and Jordan, and underscores respect for the sovereignty of states, the integrity of their territories, and the rejection of targeting civilians and critical infrastructure.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed in a statement today that the adoption of this resolution by the Security Council represents a consequential step toward enhancing stability in the region and calls for full adherence to its provisions while working to prevent further escalation, thereby contributing to consolidating regional and global peace and security.

The statement expressed Kuwait's gratitude for the efforts exerted in the Security Council to adopt this resolution, particularly by the Kingdom of Bahrain, which presented the resolution on behalf of the GCC states and Jordan.

It further noted that the resolution reflects the Council's commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities in safeguarding global peace and security and upholding the principles of international law and the UN Charter.

The statement also expressed Kuwait's gratitude to the UN member states that sponsored this resolution in solidarity with the GCC states and Jordan. (QNA)
