Doha, February 22 (QNA) - President of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and Lusail International Circuit Abdulrahman Abdullatif Al Mannai emphasized that the participation of team Qatar in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, one of the oldest endurance races in the world, promotes Qatar's global presence in motorsports.

In press remarks regarding the historic first-time participation of team Qatar in the race, Al Mannai said that this participation represents a significant milestone that reflects QMMF strategic commitment to international motorsports and the participation of Qatari talents on the global stage.

He added that the participation of team Qatar in the race, which will be held on June 13-14 at the Circuit de la Sarthe in France, represents both an honor and a responsibility, voicing his happiness at the Qatari presence in this global motorsport event, the most famous endurance race in the world, which witnesses the participation of an elite group of the key drivers, manufacturers and international teams annually.

Al Mannai indicated that team Qatar has achieved outstanding results in the Middle East Endurance Championship races over the past two seasons, and that it has undergone intensive preparations recently, expressing his confidence in its technical readiness and its determination to represent the State of Qatar in the best possible way during its participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

He considered that participation in the famous Le Mans race is not limited to the competitive aspect only, but comes within a long-term vision to enhance Qatar's global presence in motorsports, open new horizons for drivers and engineers, and inspire the next generation of Qatari cadres.

QMMF President believes that the race is expected to witness strong competition amid the participation of the key international teams. He noted that this participation represents the beginning of a new phase of Qatari ambitions in international motorsport.

Concluding his remarks, Al Mannai revealed that QMMF will announce in the coming period the details of the team list that will represent Qatar in this historic participation, where the drivers and car category will be determined, as well as the official presentation of the team.

Team Qatar is set to compete in the famous Le Mans race, in cooperation with the prestigious Italian team "Iron Lynx", in a partnership that combines international experience in endurance racing with Qatar's growing ambitions in international circuit racing.

The Le Mans race was first launched in 1923, becoming the oldest continuous endurance race in the world, and over the course of more than a century, it has witnessed the participation of historic names who have left a prominent mark on the world of circuit racing. (QNA)
