QRCS Distributes 89,000 Meals to IDPs in Gaza
Doha, October 07 (QNA) - Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) distributed over 88,000 hot meals to displaced families at camps across Gaza, at a total cost of USD 489,016, as part of its ongoing efforts to alleviate the severe food crisis affecting the Strip.
In this context, head of QRCS's representation office in Gaza Dr. Akram Nassar indicated that the project aimed to directly distribute 88,912 hot meals to the most severely affected and needy displacement camps.
He noted that the ultimate goal of all our relief projects in Gaza is to actively help alleviate the impact of the worsening humanitarian disaster, notably the severe food crisis.
This step is part of the comprehensive response being implemented by the QRCS to bridge gaps in vital sectors within the Gaza Strip, such as food, healthcare, shelter, and water and sanitation.
QRCS has announced its intention to continue supporting the food security sector by maintaining and reactivating bakeries, distributing food baskets, and providing therapeutic nutrition to malnourished children, with a targeted total cost exceeding QR 16.5 million. (QNA)
