Berlin, October 07 (QNA) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the establishment of a Palestinian state is the best path towards creating a new regional order where Israelis, Palestinians, and neighboring countries can live in peace and security.

In his remarks marking the third anniversary of the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks, Merz emphasized that the German government is working toward that perspective.

He was echoing the official stance of the government, which lies in supporting Palestinian statehood through a negotiating process that culminates in international recognition of the State of Palestine. (QNA)
