Paris, October 07 (QNA) - The International Energy Agency (IEA) confirmed that member states supported accelerating the release of approximately 100 million barrels from oil reserves, a move previously pledged last March to supply the markets.

The agency added in a statement today that its Board of Governors will hold a meeting next week to review the situation.

The statement noted that the agency's members still hold reserves equivalent to approximately 1.1 billion barrels (including more than 200 million barrels of diesel), adding that member states also supported prioritizing the release of diesel stocks. (QNA)
