Doha, October 28 (QNA) - Ministry of Culture (MOC) is participating in the 29th Algiers International Book Fair, which opened Wednesday and runs through November 7, as part of its efforts to promote Qatari intellectual and literary works and expand their presence at international exhibitions and cultural events.
Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture and Director of the Doha International Book Fair Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain said the participation reflects the ministry's commitment to promoting Qatari culture and publications, reaching wider audiences, and expanding engagement with cultural institutions and participating publishers.
He said showcasing the ministry's publications offers an opportunity to highlight the diversity of Qatar's cultural output and introduce works documenting aspects of local knowledge, literature, and culture.
The participation also promotes the Doha International Book Fair among publishers and professionals in the book industry.
Al Buainain emphasized the importance of participating in international book fairs, which provide opportunities to exchange expertise, build partnerships with cultural institutions, and expand the reach of Qatari publications in overseas markets and cultural events.
The ministry's pavilion draws inspiration from traditional Qatari architecture, reflecting the country's national identity and architectural heritage while highlighting the connection between Qatari cultural traditions and contemporary cultural life. (QNA)
