Doha, October 10 (QNA) - Msheireb Properties, the developer and operator of Msheireb Downtown Doha, has announced the fourth edition of the Baraha Musical Concert, presented in collaboration with Al Jazeera Orchestra and Choir for the second year in a row.
The concert will take place on Jan. 14 and 15, 2027, at Barahat Msheireb in the heart of the city.
Across two evenings, it will bring together emerging local singers and established vocal talent to celebrate the musical heritage of the region.
Al Jazeera Orchestra and Choir returns this year following the success of its first appearance in January 2026, which drew a strong response from audiences and confirmed their appetite for heritage music performed by local voices. Building on this, Al Jazeera Orchestra and Choir continues to establish itself as a platform for national talent, giving young Qatari singers the space to develop their craft and perform before a wider audience.
This edition introduces solo performances alongside the orchestra and choir's ensemble performance. Selected singers will take the stage individually, each presenting their own voice and interpretation, before rejoining the orchestra and choir for ensemble arrangements. The format gives audiences a closer view of the individual talent behind the orchestra's collective sound.
Musically, the programme stays close to the style that resonated with audiences at the first appearance. It draws on traditional Arabic compositions and the musical heritage of the Arabian Peninsula, in arrangements that preserve their authenticity while giving them a contemporary presence on stage.
Sheikh Nayef bin Ali Al-Thani, Founder of the Al Jazeera Orchestra and Choir initiative, said: "Al Jazeera Orchestra and Choir began with a firm belief that our musical heritage stays alive as long as young voices carry it forward. The audience response to our first appearance gave us confidence that we were on the right path, so we have kept the same musical character while making room this year for solo performances, allowing each voice to come through with its own character. We value our partnership with Msheireb Properties, which gives these talents the stage at Barahat Msheireb to share their art with its audiences."
Dr. Hafiz Ali Abdulla, Executive Director of Corporate Communication at Msheireb Properties, said: "Msheireb Downtown Doha was designed as a city that carries Qatari heritage into the heart of modern urban life, and culture sits at the centre of that vision. Initiatives such as Al Jazeera Orchestra and Choir bring this to life in our public spaces, turning Barahat Msheireb into a stage where the region's musical heritage meets a new generation of Qatari talent. Investing in national talent is part of our long-term commitment to building a city with a living cultural identity, one that enriches Qatar's cultural landscape and gives the community renewed reasons to return."
