Doha, August 20 (QNA) - The Theater Affairs Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, concluded the First Step to Acting workshop Wednesday evening.

The two-month workshop aimed to hone young theatrical talents, prepare a new generation of promising actors, and provide the theatrical arts scene with a promising generation of artists and theater professionals.

53 participants applied for the workshop, of whom 22 were selected for their theatrical talent.

The closing ceremony was held at the Dukhan Theater at the new headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, with the participation of trainees who gained practical experience in the fields of acting, physical expression, and vocal development.

Director of the Culture and Arts Department at the Ministry of Culture Abdulrahman Al Dulaimi, honored the workshop participants.

Safwat Al Ghashem, supervisor of the "First Step to Acting" workshop, said that the workshop resulted in the discovery of promising young talents in the field of theater.

He noted that the participants demonstrated their artistic abilities, qualifying them to be active players who add significant value to the Qatari theater movement.

He expressed his hope to see them in the future at the Doha Theater Festival and as members of local theater groups.

He added that offering such courses contributes to the development of a theater generation armed with knowledge and education.

The workshop concluded with a short, half-hour theatrical performance titled "Balqis," in which all the young trainees participated. The work highlighted the skills they had acquired during the course and provided a practical example of theatrical performance exercises and basic rules.

Al Ghashem said that the Theater Affairs Center is keen to organize training courses following each festival aimed at developing a new generation of youth.

He indicated that the Center continues to hold diverse programs in the fields of directing and various other theatrical elements, under the supervision of the Department of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Culture.

He emphasized that the workshop represents the beginning of a series of training courses and programs that will continue to be implemented, with the aim of enriching the artistic scene and providing an incubator for national talent, in line with the Ministry of Culture's efforts to support creativity and innovation.

This workshop is part of the programs implemented by the Center for Theater Affairs, as part of its strategy to enhance theatrical activity in the country, discover artistic talent, and hone their skills through academic and practical training.

This will contribute to revitalizing the stage and preparing actors capable of professionally performing in theatrical settings.

The closing ceremony allowed the audience to view the training outcomes of the participants through a live performance that reflected the skills they acquired during the workshop. (QNA)
