Egyptian President, Canadian Prime Minister Discuss Regional Developments, Bilateral Relations
Cairo, June 30 (QNA) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, in a phone call Monday with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, discussed regional developments and ways to restore stability in the region, as well as strengthening bilateral relations.
The Egyptian Presidency said in a statement that El Sisi reviewed Egyptian efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of taking advantage of the ongoing regional calm to reach an agreement on this matter and urgently deliver humanitarian aid to the Strip.
He also emphasized that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, is the only guarantee of sustainable stability in the Middle East.
Regarding joint cooperation, the call addressed ways to enhance bilateral relations, especially in the economic, trade, and investment fields, to serve the interests of both countries. Both sides affirmed their commitment to working together to explore prospects for cooperation in various sectors. (QNA)
