Doha, April 30 (QNA) - The State of Qatar has provided a comprehensive logistical assistance package to the Syrian Civil Defense Organization (White Helmets), including specialized equipment, machinery, and devices for search and rescue operations and emergency response.

This initiative affirms the State of Qatar's commitment to supporting global humanitarian efforts and enhancing international cooperation in disaster management and civilian protection, in line with Qatar National Vision.

The White Helmets delegation received the equipment, machinery and devices at the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) headquarters in Al Duhail, in the presence of HE Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management of the Syrian Arab Republic Raed Al Saleh, Assistant Commander of the Lekhwiya Force for Security Operations Brig. Gen. Nawaf Majed Al Ali, and HE Charge d'Affaires at the Syrian Embassy in Doha Dr. Bilal Turkiya.

The list of equipment and machinery included various fire engines, mobile water tanks, high-altitude rescue vehicles, water pumps, and personnel transport vehicles. It also included various rescue equipment used to rescue, transport, and evacuate the injured, in addition to cutting and securing equipment during search and rescue operations in collapsed buildings.

In this regard, Commander of the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group Mj. Khalid Abdullah Al Humaidi affirmed that Qatar's support for the Syrian Civil Defense Organization (White Helmets) stems from a firm commitment to strengthening humanitarian and relief work.

He stressed the importance of providing the teams with specialized search and rescue equipment and mechanisms, which would enhance their preparedness to confront difficult circumstances and save lives.

He also noted the continued support for the capabilities of White Helmet teams through specialized training programs aimed at enhancing their efficiency in emergency response. The partnership is not merely a temporary collaboration, but rather a long-term humanitarian commitment that reflects the values of solidarity and support, he added.

For his part, Director of the White Helmets Mounir Moustafa praised Qatar's ongoing support and said that this equipment will make a tangible difference in their daily operations.
