On World Television Day, Director of Qatar TV to QNA: Qatar TV Balances its National Message with Arab, Global Aspirations

Doha, November 20 (QNA) - The world will celebrate World Television Day tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 21st, in recognition of the growing influence of television on decision-making and as a way of conveying information to the public.

Since its first broadcast on August 15, 1970, Qatar Television has been able to keep pace with all the transformations that television has witnessed at the global level, and has subsequently achieved tremendous development, whether at the technical level or at the level of programs and the diverse content it offers, including news, cultural, economic, social, artistic and other materials. Qatar TV is distinguished in its giving and leadership among Gulf and Arab screens, with many of its productions and programs winning awards in the field of Arab media competitions.

Regarding how Qatar TV translates the principles of World Television Day into its programs and media policies, Director of Qatar TV Ali bin Saleh Al Sada confirmed in special statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that Qatar TV embodies the principles of World Television Day through professional media that promotes credibility and cultural dialogue, and presents awareness and development programs that reflect the values ​​of Qatari society and open up knowledge horizons for the public.

Al Sada said that through a balanced discourse, Qatar TV combines identity and openness, and continues its role as a platform for spreading knowledge and promoting cultural communication.

Regarding Qatar TV’s ability to be a platform for cultural enlightenment and civilizational dialogue, he affirmed that the television has been able to establish its position through content that balances authenticity and openness, and celebrates national identity within a global vision.

He added that through Qatar TV’s dialogue and cultural programs, and by hosting intellectual figures from various countries, it has contributed to enhancing community awareness and building bridges of communication between cultures, becoming a media platform that reflects Qatar’s image as an environment for dialogue and cultural exchange.

Regarding Qatar TV’s role in balancing its national mission with its ambition to reach an Arab and global audience, the Director of Qatar TV affirmed that this long-established channel balances its national mission with its ambition to reach an Arab and global audience by presenting content that reflects the Qatari identity in a modern style. He pointed out that Qatar TV addresses Arab and humanitarian issues with a global dimension, adopting a professional discourse and advanced digital platforms, which enabled it to be close to the Qatari viewer and attractive to audiences abroad because it combines authenticity and openness.

Regarding the most prominent initiatives that Qatar TV is expected to launch to promote awareness of the importance of television as a means of cultural and human communication, Al Sada stated that Qatar TV plans to launch cultural and humanitarian initiatives that promote the importance of television as a means of communication, through awareness and cultural programs, to provide interactive content in which the public participates, in addition to supporting national talents, and producing documentaries that reflect heritage and human values, all with the aim of promoting awareness and spreading culture and civilizational dialogue.
