Kuwait, November 29 (QNA) - The 48th Kuwait International Book Fair came to a close Saturday, after it was organized by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) under the theme "Capital of Culture, Homeland of the Book".

The event brought together exhibitors from 33 Arab and foreign nations, representing 611 publishing houses.

The State of Qatar took part in the fair, represented by the Ministry of Culture, alongside several Qatari publishing houses, including Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press), Qatar University Press, Roza Publishing House, Dar Al Watad for Publishing and Distribution, and Dar Ktateeb.

These institutions showcased a broad range of thoughtful, literary, and scientific genres that demonstrated the diverse cultural scene in Qatar.

The fair was wound up with a panel discussion involving the Head of the Media Department at the International University of Science and Technology, Dr. Ahmed Al Haydar, and Husain Ebrahim, Associate Professor in the Department of Media at Kuwait University.

It was launched on Nov. 19, and throughout its days-long duration, it showcased substantial participation from domestic and Arab publishing houses, and diverse cultural showcases and symposiums of book signings and conversations with writers and thinkers. (QNA)
