Iraq Announces Reopening of Airspace to Air Traffic
Baghdad, June 08 (QNA) - The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) announced Monday the reopening of airspace to inbound and outbound flights at all Iraqi airports.
In a statement, the ICAA stated that the move came after it had evaluated the situation in coordination with the competent authorities to ensure the flow of air navigation in accordance with the highest safety and security standards.
There is constant monitoring of the evolving situation, which will continue to be evaluated in collaboration with the relevant authorities, the authority outlined, adding that this would ensure the safety and security of Iraqi airspace.
In addition, the ICAA explained that carriers and passengers will be notified through officially approved channels of any potential updates regarding air traffic.
On Sunday evening, the ICAA declared the closure of airspace to all inbound, outbound, and transit flights for 72 hours based on temporary and precautionary measures. (QNA)
