Kuwait Stock Market Closes Marginally Lower

Kuwait City, July 07 (QNA) - Kuwait's main stock market index closed marginally lower on Tuesday, slipping 0.06% or 5.26 points to finish at 8,733.72.
A total of 310.2 million shares changed hands in 21,796 cash transactions, with a combined value of KWD72.1 million (about USD234.8m).
The Main Market outperformed the broader index, rising 12.18 points, or 0.14%, to close at 8,841.11. Trading in the segment totaled 209.8 million shares worth KWD31 million (around USD100.9m) across 13,086 transactions.
By contrast, the Premier Market Index fell 9.24 points, or 0.10%, to 9,164.16. It recorded trading of 100.4 million shares valued at KWD41.1 million (approximately USD133.8m) through 8,710 transactions.
The Main 50 Index was the day's strongest performer, gaining 36.92 points, or 0.37%, to end at 10,098.56, with 178.6 million shares traded in 9,588 transactions worth USD25.9 million (about USD84.3m). (QNA)
