Doha, July 07 (QNA) - Qatar Foundation's Pre-University Education division and the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in sports development, inclusion and community engagement.
A Qatar Foundation statement said the agreement aims to expand access to endurance sports for children, young people and the wider community across Qatar, with a particular focus on students with accessibility needs, increasing girls' participation and broadening grassroots involvement in cycling and triathlon.
The statement hailed the partnership as a reflection of a shared commitment to creating more inclusive and accessible sporting pathways while supporting healthier and more active communities.
President of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation, Abeer Al Khalifa, said sport is a core part of the educational experience, helping to build confidence, teamwork, discipline and leadership skills.
She said the partnership would create more opportunities for students to take part in specialized sports programs while making use of Qatar Foundation's sporting facilities to support school and community initiatives promoting health, wellbeing and inclusion.
Al Khalifa added that the agreement would also support coach development, workshops and joint initiatives, saying a sustainable sporting culture begins in schools and is strengthened through partnerships between educational institutions and national organizations.
President of the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation, Abdulaziz Al Tamimi, said the agreement builds on an existing partnership between the two organizations and reinforces their shared commitment to promoting sport and healthy lifestyles among students.
He said the collaboration would help expand participation in cycling and triathlon while creating more inclusive and sustainable sporting opportunities for different groups across the community. (QNA)
