Caracas, January 05 (QNA) - Venezuelan Vice President and minister of oil Delcy Rodriguez was sworn in as the country's interim president, on Monday.

The Constitutional Chamber of Venezuela's Supreme Court had announced yesterday that Rodriguez will serve as acting president, after President Nicolas Maduro was captured in a US military operation on Saturday.

This comes two days after US President Donald Trump announced that the US had launched a large-scale strike against Venezuela, arrested President Maduro and his wife, and transferred them to the US. (QNA)
