Doha, September 27 (QNA) - Aspire Zone Foundation and Guyana Football Federation (GFF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support and develop football in Guyana.

The agreement focuses on developing youth teams and grassroots football programs, exchanging technical and coaching expertise, and exploring new commercial partnership opportunities.

The MoU was signed at Aspire Zone Foundation's headquarters in Doha by Acting CEO Abdullah Nasser Al Naimi and GFF President Wayne Forde.

Under the agreement, Aspire Zone Foundation will support Guyana's Under-14 and Under-17 teams through technical and coaching assistance, player development, and performance assessment. The agreement also provides for the possibility of holding training camps for both teams at Aspire's facilities in Doha, subject to the agreed programs and facility availability.

Commenting on the agreement, Abdullah Nasser Al Naimi said Aspire Zone Foundation is committed to achieving sporting excellence for its partners and expressed the Foundation's pleasure at working with the GFF to develop football in Guyana, exchange expertise, identify talent, and strengthen the country's football ecosystem. He added that Aspire is committed to establishing performance standards, maintaining them, and raising them to new levels of excellence.

For his part, Wayne Forde noted that youth development is at the heart of the GFF's mission. Following the historic success of Guyana's Under-14 team in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Challenge Series, he stated that the GFF looks forward to working with Aspire Zone Foundation to help the players further develop their skills and benefit from professional football development programs. He also expressed appreciation for the relationship with Aspire Zone Foundation and said the GFF looks forward to continued cooperation to strengthen the partnership and create meaningful pathways for the next generation of Guyanese footballers.

Under the memorandum, Aspire Sports Consulting and Management (Kotinos) will lead advisory services, including an assessment of Guyana's football ecosystem, identification of development opportunities, and preparation of a roadmap covering the agreed areas.

The MoU reflects the commitment of both Aspire Zone Foundation and the GFF to supporting the continued development of football in Guyana, promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and creating opportunities for long-term cooperation. (QNA)
