Doha, February 27 (QNA) - The quarterfinals of the Pearl Beach Volleyball Championship, held on The Pearl Island, will begin tomorrow, Saturday, and continue until the 18th of Ramadan. Twelve teams are participating, divided into four groups.

The quarterfinal matches on Saturday are expected to be exciting, with teams vying for a place in the semifinals.

Lekhwiya, the top team in Group A, will face Al Rayyan, the runner-up in Group B. Madinat Khalifa, the top team in Group C, will play Al Jassasiya, the runner-up in Group D.

The Ministry of Interior, the top team in Group B, will meet Seashore, the runner-up in Group A. Al Zubara, the top team in Group D, will take on Al Mirqab, the runner-up in Group C.

The semifinal matches will be held next Sunday, with the teams having a rest day the following day. The third-place match will be held on Tuesday, followed by the final.

The organizing committee was keen to increase the value of the prize money in this edition, reaching QAR 200,000 for the top three teams, distributed as follows: QAR 100,000 for first place, QAR 50,000 for second place, and QAR 30,000 for third place.

The committee also allocated approximately QAR 600,000 in prizes for the public, to be awarded throughout the tournament, with the aim of encouraging public engagement and transforming the championship into a comprehensive sporting festival.

It is worth noting that the tournament draw, overseen by the Qatar Volleyball Association, divided the participating teams into four groups. Group A included Lekhwiya, Seashore, and Lusail; Group B included the Ministry of Interior, Al Rayyan, and Al Dafna; Group C included Al Mirqab, Madinat Khalifa, and Al Ittihad; and Group D included Al Jassasiya, Vicuna, and Al Zubara.
