Jordan: Crude Oil Reserves Secure, Cover Local Demand
Amman, March 25 (QNA) – The Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) has confirmed that its crude oil reserves, necessary for refining petroleum products and producing gas cylinders, are securely available and cover local market demand without any interruption.
According to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the JPRC stated that the refinery continues to operate at full capacity to secure the needs of various economic sectors for petroleum products, including transportation, industry, electricity generation, and aviation.
It also supplies local marketing companies and distributors of domestic gas cylinders, ensuring a smooth and stable supply.
The JPRC explained that since the beginning of this month, the refinery has imported two crude oil tankers with a total capacity of approximately two million barrels, in addition to further shipments expected in the coming period.
This has contributed to bolstering the Kingdom's strategic reserves to comfortable levels exceeding two months' supply, thus enhancing the Kingdom's ability to cope with any regional developments that may affect supply chains.
The JPRC noted that the refinery relies on an advanced storage system with a capacity exceeding 900,000 tons, distributed between Zarqa and Aqaba. This allows for high flexibility in inventory management and ensures the regular supply of the local market's needs across its various sectors.
It is worth noting that the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) plays a pivotal role in guaranteeing energy security in Jordan, in full coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, particularly in light of current regional circumstances.
