Damascus, November 24 (QNA) - Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, Nidal Al Shaar, today met with Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yarub Al Qudah, who is visiting Damascus, to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries across multiple sectors, boost bilateral trade, and address any challenges it faces.

The two sides agreed in the meeting to open import and export channels for all goods between the countries on a reciprocal basis starting from the beginning of next year.

This step is expected to enhance trade volumes and provide greater opportunities for both the private and public sectors in each country.

The Syrian minister emphasized the importance of facilitating customs procedures and improving trade infrastructure to increase the efficiency of commerce between Syria and Jordan, as well as the need to strengthen cooperation between their public and private sectors.

For his part, the Jordanian minister highlighted the necessity of expediting the required measures to increase trade exchange, stimulate collaboration in various fields such as industry, agriculture, energy, and transport, and encourage the private sector.

He also pointed to numerous opportunities that can be leveraged to expand the framework of economic partnership between the two countries. (QNA)
