Baku, June 05 (QNA) - Five Azerbaijani nationals were killed and three others injured in overnight drone attacks on two cargo ships in the Sea of Azov, Azerbaijan's foreign ministry said on Friday.
The ministry said 25 Azerbaijani citizens were aboard the foreign-flagged vessels when they were targeted. The injured were taken to a hospital in the Russian city of Yeysk.
Earlier, Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces commander Robert Brovdi said overnight strikes had targeted five ships operating in the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk.
The claims have not been independently verified. The Sea of Azov has become a key battleground in the Russia-Ukraine war, with both sides increasingly targeting maritime assets and infrastructure. (QNA)
