Magnitude 5.2 Earthquake Strikes Northwestern China
Beijing, June 23 (QNA) - A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck Haixi Prefecture in Qinghai province in northwestern China on Tuesday.
The China Earthquake Networks Center said the earthquake occurred at a depth of 8 kilometers (5 miles) at a location measuring 37.86 degrees north latitude and 95.54 degrees east longitude.
On June 16, one person was killed and four others were injured when a magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Haixi Prefecture in northwestern China.
A magnitude 5.0 earthquake also hit Toksun County in northwestern China at the end of May, with no casualties reported.
China is frequently affected by earthquakes and strong tremors, particularly in the mountainous regions of the country's west. (QNA)
