Monaco, June 23 (QNA) - The Diamond League Council praised the Doha meeting, held Friday at the track and field facilities of Suheim bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar SC, which featured a host of leading athletes, including Olympic and world medalists as well as world-record holders.

In a statement posted on its social media accounts, the council said the Doha meeting achieved notable technical success and attracted a large crowd that added excitement to the track and field competitions. The strong attendance helped motivate athletes to post new marks during the 2026 season.

The council added that the setting of three world-leading marks in the men's and women's triple jump events and another in the women's 400 meters highlighted the organizers' commitment to excellence and to providing conditions that enable athletes to deliver top performances. It also noted that the meeting received high ratings from participating athletes.

According to the statement, Doha demonstrated a high level of professionalism in organizing the event despite the schedule change from May to June, underscoring Qatar's extensive experience in successfully hosting major sporting events.

The meeting featured 14 men's and women's events, including seven field events and seven track races, in addition to national races and school competitions aimed at promoting athletics in schools.

Earlier, President of the Qatar Athletics Federation and chairman of the organizing committee, Mohammed Issa Al Fadala, said the Doha meeting was expected to achieve outstanding success given the caliber of participating athletes, including Olympic and world medalists. (QNA)
