Quadrilateral Meeting in Cairo Discusses Latest Regional Developments
Cairo, June 20 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Senior Advisor to US President for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos held a meeting to discuss a number of regional issues and crises in Cairo on Saturday.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that the meeting witnessed an in-depth exchange of views on several regional issues, including the Iranian file in light of the memorandum of understanding reached between the United States and Iran, with an emphasis on the importance of building upon this significant step to reduce tensions and enhance security and stability in the region.
Regarding developments in Libya, they stressed the significance of supporting efforts to preserve Libya's unity and respect its sovereignty, advancing the political process, and unifying Libyan state institutions.
The meeting also addressed the latest developments in the Palestinian cause, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip, as well as the situation in Africa and ways to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination to support the continent's security and stability. (QNA)
