QC, UNHCR Expand Strategic Partnership to Support Refugees
Doha, June 20 (QNA) - Qatar Charity (QC) and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) signed two agreements to support more than 15,000 vulnerable forcibly displaced people in Lebanon and the Middle East and North Africa.
The two agreements were signed by Ahmed Mohsen, UNHCR Representative to the State of Qatar, and Nawaf Abdulla Al Hammadi, Deputy CEO for Programs and Communications at QC.
These two agreements, which have a total value of QAR 3,079,324 (equivalent to USD 844,808), come as a continuation of the Letter of Intent signed by both parties in 2024.
In addition, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), in its capacity as Trustee of the Global Islamic Fund for Refugees, announced the signing of a strategic Donor Contribution Agreement with QC worth USD 10 million, to deliver on the pledge that was announced during the Global Refugee Forum Progress Review plenary session in December 2025.
This step represents a significant milestone that reinforces QC's commitment to advancing innovative and sustainable financing solutions to support forcibly displaced people.
Under this contribution, QC will join the steering committee of the Global Islamic Fund for Refugees, which is co-led by UNHCR and IsDB, to help guide funding allocation in member countries.
This move also comes as a continuation of the strategic discussions held between UNHCR and QC last November, and paves the way for expanding future cooperation between the two sides. (QNA)
