Nepal-China Flood Death Toll Rises to 1,130
Kathmandu, September 02 (QNA) - The death toll from floods and mudslides that swept border areas between Nepal and China has risen to 1,130, with 4,462 people missing.
The Nepal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority said in a statement Wednesday that the death toll from the floods in Nepal had risen to at least 1,114, while 3,916 people remained missing.
On the Chinese side, reports said 16 people had died in Tibet and 546 remained missing, bringing the combined toll in the two countries to 1,130 dead and 4,462 missing.
Flash floods and mudslides swept areas along the border between Nepal and Chinese Tibet last week, washing away villages and causing widespread damage to roads and infrastructure. (QNA)
