Italy's Producer Price Inflation Hits Highest Level Since February 2023
Rome, September 02 (QNA) - Italian producer prices accelerated in July to their highest level in about three and a half years, amid higher energy costs, data from the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) showed Wednesday.
The data showed that the producer price index jumped 7.8 percent year over year in July, compared with a 5.8 percent increase in June. This was the highest rate of inflation since February 2023, when prices rose 9.6 percent.
The increase in Italy's producer price inflation was driven largely by higher energy costs. (QNA)
