Baghdad, July 18 (QNA) - President of Iraq Nizar Amidi condemned the attacks targeting the cities of Erbil and Sulaimaniyah in northern Iraq, affirming his country's refusal to be an arena for conflicts or a battleground for settling regional scores.
In a statement on Saturday, the Iraqi President stressed, "Any targeting of Iraqi territory, under any pretext, constitutes an unacceptable violation of Iraq's sovereignty and threatens the security and stability of its citizens."
Amidi reiterated Baghdad's commitment to having relations based on mutual respect and good neighborliness, in a manner that preserves the sovereignty of states and spares the peoples of the region further escalation and instability.
Both cities had experienced rocket and drone attacks over the past few hours that included the targeting of arms and munition depots in Tasluja. (QNA)
