Doha, November 12 (QNA) - The star-studded 10th edition of the Aspire Academy Global Summit concluded today, which coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence.

The summit provided a platform for exchanging groundbreaking insights on sports science, coaching techniques, and performance, with a key focus on inspiring the next generation of sports leaders.
The discussions and joint workshops highlighted the use of technology in modern football methods and touched on issues related to football development and training within academies.

A key session focused on the technical and tactical evolution of football over the past decade. Gerrard Trives Guardiola from Barcelonas Methodology Department provided valuable insights into how the clubs style of play has adapted following the departure of legends like Lionel Messi and Neymar. He stressed the importance of allowing young players to express themselves while adapting to evolving tactical demands.

Meanwhile, Jose Tavares, Academy Director at Porto FC, emphasized the need to anticipate future trends in football to start implementing change early. He also discussed the significance of emotional moments in a players journey and how these can be harnessed to motivate players to achieve more. Cristian Javier Ramirez Lizana, Tactical Performance Analyst for the Brazilian Women's National Team, highlighted that effective communication is not only about how information is delivered, but equally about how it is received. He stressed the importance of understanding how different players process feedback, so technical staff can tailor their approach accordingly.

Head of Academy Performance at Juventus Darragh Connolly emphasized the importance of preparing young players for professional football as academies expand across various age groups. He stressed that the entire structure of a football club must be aligned to ensure players are ready for the challenges of the professional game.

Director of High Performance at US Soccer Rick Cost pointed out that a one-size-fits-all approach to development is not feasible across all football institutions. He advocated for tailored strategies and philosophies that cater to the unique needs of each club and player. Looking ahead, Cost highlighted the rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence and its potential to transform football. He urged delegates to stay ahead of this trend, stressing the importance of using AI wisely to enhance coaching and performance analysis.

Chairman of the Aspire Academy Global Summit 2024 Ali Salem Afif shared his pride in hosting the summit in Qatar this year, which coincides with the 20th anniversary of Aspire Academys founding.

"We are proud to hold the 10th edition of this summit in Qatar during this exceptional year," Afif said before adding that "the summit took place in a unique atmosphere that blended in-depth technical and professional work with recreational activities in the heart of Qatars desert, in the Sealine area. This had a positive impact on participants from around the world." He thanked everyone involved in organizing the event, saying that the Global Summit compliments the work done all-year-round work by the Aspire in the World Fellows community.

Meanwhile Tim Cahill, who serves as Head of Sports at Aspire Academy, expressed his satisfaction with the success of the tenth edition of the Global Summit. Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), he highlighted the presence of notable figures among the speakers, including French coach Rudi Garcia, Duhail coach Christophe Galtier, former Paris Saint-Germain head coach, and other football training personalities.

The former Australian national team star expressed his delight at hosting global stars who share their experiences and perspectives. He added that the summit served as a platform to present this research and embodies modern technology in facilitating communication among all those involved in this major project led by Aspire.

Cahill further noted that the summit offered fresh insights into modern football techniques, particularly in youth development and training. He emphasized the substantial technical benefits gained by Qatari football through the involvement of technical officials from the Qatar Football Association and Aspire Academy.

The former player, who represented Australia in multiple World Cup tournaments and played for Everton in the English Premier League, added that the global summit showcases the rigorous and outstanding work being done by the academy, positively impacting Qatari football.

Cahill said that the Qatar Football Association and Aspire Academy operate under a well-thought-out strategy to support Qatari national teams by sharing updates with experts worldwide, stressing the need to benefit from findings and research outcomes.

Meanwhile, Director of Marketing and Communications at Aspire Academy Al Anoud Al Misnad remarked that hosting the 2024 Aspire Global Summit in the breathtaking setting of Qatar’s Sealine Desert brings a special essence to this 10th edition, reflecting an aspect of the nation’s culture. She emphasized that the summit coincides with Aspire Academy’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

She added that the impressive attendance and broad participation of Aspire Fellows from around the world, along with prominent guest speakers, highlight the importance of the Aspire Academy Global Summit.

Executive Director of Competitions and Football Development at the Qatar Stars League (QSL) Dr. Ahmed Abbassi said that QSL and the Qatar Football Association are working alongside the Aspire Summit as part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at leveraging expertise and new scientific innovations in the field of football.

He emphasized that the organization collaborates with many local and international experts in sports performance and technical management to enhance the quality of championships and develop players across various levels. He added that the participation of a select group of prominent figures in the world of sports over the course of two days contributes to generating outstanding opportunities and strengthening collaborative relationships among participants.
