Beirut, March 12 (QNA) - The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) expressed deep concern on Thursday over the dangerous escalation of hostilities along the Blue Line.

UNIFIL, in a statement, said its forces monitored seven Israeli air raids over Lebanon and more than 120 artillery incidents, while over 120 projectiles were fired from Lebanese territory, describing all these actions as serious violations of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

The statement noted that peacekeeping forces are present on the ground to monitor developments, report on them, coordinate between parties, provide humanitarian support, and protect civilians wherever possible.

UNIFIL urged all parties to end hostilities and reiterated the need for full compliance with Resolution 1701 to ensure safety and security of civilians on both sides of the Blue Line. (QNA)
