Jordan's Monarch Stresses Need to Intensify International Efforts to Halt Escalation in the Region
Amman, March 12 (QNA) - Jordan's King Abdullah II stressed Thursday the need to intensify international efforts to halt the dangerous escalation in the region.
In a telephone call with King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, the Jordanian monarch explained that his country places the protection of its citizens at the forefront of its priorities and continues to take all necessary measures to safeguard its security and stability.
He also warned against exploiting the current developments as a pretext to violate the freedom of worshippers to access the Al Aqsa Mosque and to impose a new reality in the West Bank and Gaza.
The Jordanian monarch also stressed the importance of supporting Lebanon's efforts to maintain its security, stability, and sovereignty.
For his part, the King of the Netherlands expressed his country's solidarity with Jordan and its commitment to the two-state solution as the path to achieving peace. (QNA)
