WHO Urges Urgent Medical Aid for Gaza
Geneva, May 01 (QNA) - The World Health Organization (WHO) has called for allowing the entry of medicines and essential medical supplies into the besieged Gaza Strip without delay, to enable the large-scale rebuilding of health services.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on the platform X, commenting on the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza under an Israeli blockade, that the organization has supported the establishment of a new family health center in northern Gaza, where health services remain extremely limited and inaccessible to many residents.
He added that the center helps deliver healthcare directly to people, stressing that health needs across Gaza are very high.
Ghebreyesus urged the immediate entry of medicines and essential supplies to begin rebuilding health services on a broad scale.
He also called for the removal of bureaucratic obstacles on essential medicines and lifting restrictions on access to Gaza. (QNA)
