Ramallah, August 25 (QNA) - The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) has reported a sharp rise in settler attacks in the West Bank during the first seven months of 2026, recording a 63% increase compared with the same period last year.
In a statement issued Tuesday, CWRC said that it has documented 4,113 attacks since the beginning of 2026 through the end of July, compared with 2,524 attacks during the same period in 2025: an increase of 1,589 attacks.
These attacks cannot be treated as isolated incidents, the Commission said, rather, they are occurring thanks to a politically, security-wise, and legally enabling environment that was empowered by the formation of the current far-right government at the end of 2022, it added.
CWRC pointed to the growing functional coordination between the occupation army and settlers in asserting control over the land and restricting Palestinians' access to their land and sources of livelihood.
The Commission warned that hesitant international positions and weak deterrence and accountability mechanisms have contributed to transforming settler attacks from sporadic incidents into an organized tool for creating new geographic realities and pushing Palestinian communities toward contraction and displacement.
