For its part, Al-Raya newspaper stressed in its editorial that the State of Qatar's tireless endeavors to build its bright present and draw the features of its comprehensive future renaissance did not prevent it from being proud of its honorable past and its authentic national culture, noting that Qatar, which is confidently striding towards growth, achievement and implementation of its huge strategic projects within its National Vision 2030, believes in the great role of its past and the sacrifices of the ancestors as a main engine for its successive achievements at the local, regional and international levels.
In this regard, the paper referred to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's issuance of Law No. 7 of 2023 on documents and archives, as the Qatar National Archive will apply and implement the provisions of this law in coordination with the concerned authorities, and the issuance of the Amiri Decision forming the Board of Trustees of Qatar National Archive.
Qatar National Archive is affiliated to the Amiri Diwan, as it was reorganized to be an advanced national center that preserves the historical memory of the State, contributes to the documentary consolidation of the national cultural identity, and enhances the authenticity of its heritage and culture locally, regionally and globally, the paper added.
The newspaper indicated that Qatar has a rich cultural heritage that narrates the heroics made by the ancestors, and how the people of Qatar pledged to build their state on the foundations of faith, justice, and belonging to the Arab and Islamic depth.
Al-Raya concluded by saying that Qatar National Archive is concerned with identifying all documents of historical value in the possession of ministries and other government agencies or persons, and other documents and archives located abroad within a legal framework in order to highlight the cultural and scientific values of documents, conduct historical research and studies, raise awareness of the importance of documentary heritage, and allow researchers and those interested to benefit from the informative material in its possession and view them.
In another matter, Al-Sharq daily said that for the second day in a row, the Israeli entity continues its aggression against the Gaza Strip by launching large-scale air raids in various parts of the Strip, which resulted in the death of 20 Palestinian citizens, including four children, five women and a doctor, in addition to many wounded. This aggression is an extension of the widespread Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people, including siege, settlement, incursions, raids, arrests, displacement, home demolitions and other violations of international law, the Charter of the United Nations and the international humanitarian law.
The paper explained that the occupation's deliberate and organized terrorism, targeting and extrajudicial executions of Palestinians, including the killing of entire families, destruction of civilian facilities and infrastructure, and intimidation of civilians in full view of the international community and the Security Council, despite the mandate of the Charter to maintain international peace and security, reflect Israel's violation of the resolutions of international legitimacy and its challenge to the institutions of the international community, whose reactions demonstrated the reality of international double standards in dealing with international law and human rights issues and principles.
Based on their recognized roles and confidence in their efforts, the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United Nations continue their continuous contacts to stop the aggression and crimes committed against the Palestinian people, and push the two parties to calm down and stop the ongoing escalation in the Palestinian territories, the paper said, pointing out that the concerned parties confirmed that they had received calls from Qatar, Egypt and the United Nations, during which they discussed the aggression on the Gaza Strip and ways to deal with it In conclusion, Al-Sharq affirmed that the State of Qatar spares no effort in stopping this barbaric aggression against the Gaza Strip, through joint cooperation with Egypt and the United Nations, a cooperation that recorded many successes in this file, and was behind all the previous truce agreements between the Palestinian factions and Israel.
English-language newspaper The Peninsula hailed the State of Qatar's stances on crises and issues, especially in the Arab world, stressing that Qatar has long advocated enhanced cooperation and engagement in the Gulf and wider Middle East region.
In its editorial under the headline "Qatar's principled stance on Syria", the paper said that Qatar supports all regional and international efforts to find a just solution to the Syrian crisis that respects the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, achieves the aspirations of its people, and is based on UN Resolution 2254 in all its humanitarian and political aspect.
Qatar has also said that it restoring relations with the Syrian regime is fully linked with progress towards a political solution according to relevant international resolutions, the paper said.
Speaking at an extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level in Cairo earlier this week, HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi said Qatar is keen to work with other Arab countries to find a just political solution in Syria, the paper added.
Now as Syria returns to the Arab League after around 12 years, it is incumbent on the Syrian regime to address the roots of the crisis and take positive steps towards addressing the issues of the Syrian people and improving its relations with its neighbours in a way that enhances security and stability in the region, The Peninsula concluded.
