Honor: Features Based on AI in MagicOS 8.0 Update
Beijing, January 11 (QNA) - The officially revealed Honor's new update, MagicOS 8.0, is based on artificial intelligence (AI) and many new features and improvements.
The new update works on the Android 14 operating system, and the company has integrated its new AI large language model, MagicLM. Honor also presents the interface with a new working mechanism based on user intentions, meaning that it proactively suggests services and applications based predictions of actions the user wants to perform, and on usage patterns.
Honor offers another feature called Magic Portal, which makes use of AI model to provide context-based recommendations for applications and services in the form of a shortcut via a scrollable sidebar, where the user can drag an address from the Messages application to the Maps application on the side of the screen to view directions, or drag and drop an image into a shopping app.
The company said that this feature will be supported in the 100 most popular applications in China, without revealing additional details about its availability globally.
The MagicOS 8.0 update also provides new options to customize Home and Lock screens in a manner similar to the iOS system on iPhones, in addition to other improvements in performance, consumption of device resources, the advantages of blocking ads, and creating an additional copy of installed applications.
Honor will make the new update available to the Honor Magic 5, 4, 3, and Magic V phones, in addition to the Honor 100, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, and X50 series, gradually during the first half of 2024.
