Berlin, December 05 (QNA) - Sadio Mane, the striker of the Senegalese national football team, praised the performance of his country's national team against England's team in their match Sunday in the competitions of the round of 16 of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, despite losing three goals without reply and leaving the World Cup.

Mane, a player of the German club Bayern Munich, said via his Instagram account that the Senegalese came out of the World Cup with an honorable performance. He paid tribute to his colleagues for the outstanding performance during the World Cup, adding that the national team players deservedly represented their country at the World Cup.

Mane highlighted that leaving the World Cup is a step in a continuous journey of learning and development, and pledged to participate with his colleagues in a new search for titles and awards.

Only Senegal and Morocco passed the first round of the 2022 World Cup out of five African teams that participated in this edition.

Mane was injured a few days before the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 during his participation with Bayern Munich in a Bundesliga match to miss the squad of the Senegalese national team at this World Cup, where he underwent surgery due to injury.
